Well speaking as a skinhead myself who is Gay and was born and raised in Sydenham I have to say people should never judge a book by it's cover.
Most of my friends are skinheads, and by appearence they can appear and come across as a little over powering and scary. However they are people just like everybody else, and people should look beyond the screen that the media seems to have created.
I do agree with one comment made on here that there are many Gay guys who will shave their heads which is why some skins are often paired with the 'Gay world' however for me it just saves on hair gel, I think it looks good and it's one less thing to worry about in the mornings...
So come on....don't be scared of Skinheads, and if you see me walking down Sydenham Road, you can say hello to me....Ha

I've always been fascinated by the whole gay skinhead thing because of its socio-political connotations. The thing is, because of the uniform/wardobe it isn't often easy to tell the difference between a nice guy who likes the clothes and wants to save on hairgel and a raving neo nazi, but that is probably for discussion elsewhere.
Anyway, next time I see skinhead in Sydenham I'll say hello.

Yes it is true to say I do know some people that love to dress the part as a skinhead just to look like a hard nut, and I know others like me who just hate having their hair cut every other week ha. I am big softy really but please don't tell everybody......hee
I have a friend of mine who looks like a total thug and if you saw him walking down the road you might want to cross over...however he is the biggest pussy cat ever, but he just loves the image it gives of making people feel a little scared of him. Mind you in today's crazy streets of SE26 by night I feel safe with him walking down the road.....
I try to put on my butch side when nightfalls on our little town and so far it's worked ha....
