How many posters went to Kirkdale Bookshop's theatrical event on Saturday, staged to celebrate this wonderful shop's 41st birthday?
About 60 punters forwent the live rugby semi-final to enjoy an evening of playlets, staged throughout the shop, written by local authors from Kirkdale Bookshop's writers' circle. These were interspersed with interval drinks and finger food samples of what we can expect when Blue Mountain Cafe finally opens its doors on 27 October.
A splendid community evening was had by one and all - and some of us went home not knowing the result (including me) and finished it all off by sitting through a DVD recording of the rugby. What a Saturday night to remember!
Congratulations to Geraldine and all involved at Lewisham's finest bookshop - long may you thrive in Sydenham!
