Are we there yet?

Post by stuart »

T'other week I took, for the first time, the Overground from Stratford to Canonbury. The trains are exactly the same as ours except the leccy comes from wires in the sky rather than the execution rail.

It was a Saturday night and the coach rocked. Cool people going cool places, trick bikes, natty gear, great music and a whiff of strange substances. Everybody was chatting with everybody. It was all rather fun. Why go Clubbin' when an Oyster Card can get you places like that?

Switched to our line at Canonbury (really neat as its the other side of the same platform). What a difference! Glum faces and the only entertainment was a begger doing his patter ...

A bad night? Or why are so many here not enjoying life in the south like our friends from the north?

Stuart

I would imagine most people in The Deep South are quite as happy as their Northern Cousins. Train journey not sole judge.

However I agree one should smile and converse with strangers whenever possible,

It is quite an achievement to board a train and find one person not speaking or string at their mobile device. Whatever happened to living in a community also train spotting seems to have gone out of the window.

London as a whole becoming much younger than the rest of the country

I expect LBL 's average age much much less than Worthing or Eatbourne.

I guess language is a major factor although understand a number to study in The Netherlands as the courses in English.

According to last charts we have 4 out of ten of best uni's in the world. Voted by all countries. USA has other six.

I'm curious to know why you say this Rod. Do you have an inside track that just about every ranking organisation doesn't ?
