SEE3 News: Club Nights Announced
As part of our Pop Goes Sydenham (http://www.see3.co.uk/popgoessyd/) project to stimulate retail in Sydenham, establish a visible arts identity (http://www.see3.co.uk/2013/06/sydenham- ... july-2013/) and to stimulate a night-time economy we're really excited to be able to confirm the following clubbing and street food events at Zanzibar:
Wednesday 17th July, 8pm - 1am: Northern soul, reggae & ska
Wednesday 24th July, 8pm - 1am: Dance music mash-up
Wednesday 31st July, 8pm - 1am: Pop!
Entry is free. Come along for some fab food and a dance, check out the space and hang out with your neighbours. The aim is to create local events for local people. You in??
We'll be confirming DJs and food traders over the coming week along with details of how to book for the event.

KM - I think there could well be a large proportion of folks who fall into that category ;o)
So, anyway our first big night is tomorrow! We have Aga of Aga's Little Deli selling burgers, sausages and her AMAZING cheese toasties. And we have a fab line up of local DJs:
- James Moseley
- Sounds From The Cistern (http://www.mixcloud.com/soundsfromthecistern/) - some of you folks might recognise this fella...
- Joe Muggs, music journo and sometime DJ
Its FREE to get in so come down and get funky with your neighbours.

Re: SEE3 News: Club Nights Announced
Did anyone go to this last night?
Re: SEE3 News: Club Nights Announced
Yes indeed. The music was fantastic with a good varied selection of Tunes. They were doing beer for £2 a bottle, which was fab and Aga's little deli provided some super burgers. G-lady had one of her famous cheese toasties. Great.
Zanzibar is an amazing space and I urge you all to come next Weds. I think, with the co-operation of the venue some great things could be done there. And by all accounts the manager is well up for it.

OMG - this makes me feel like a dinosaur.louisecbrooks wrote:Tomorrow's event is Dance Mash-Up folks. With tunes from DJs Sounds From the Cistern and Captain Eclectic expect old and new house, funk, minimal techno and a touch of electro.
Any chance of sneeking into a quiet corner and will the genres be subtitled?
I really need to get beyond Tamla Motown ...

Right up my street, this. Just need to strong arm the other-half out of the house. The promise of Butchery burgers should do it.

Who needs night clubs when we have the streets?stuart wrote:OMG - this makes me feel like a dinosaur.louisecbrooks wrote:Tomorrow's event is Dance Mash-Up folks. With tunes from DJs Sounds From the Cistern and Captain Eclectic expect old and new house, funk, minimal techno and a touch of electro.
