Upcoming Bookshop events
We'd just like to let you know about some events at the upcoming Sydenham Arts Festival- these are ones which Kirkdale Bookshop is particularly involved with:
First, on Monday 1 July at 7.30pm, we are a hosting an evening with cryptic-crossword setter Tony Long, who will be revealing the secrets of cryptic crosswords- whether you're an old hand or a beginner, the event promises to be fun.
Then on Wednesday 3 July at 8pm, Sydenham School is hosting an event where acclamed author Blake Morrison ("South of the River", "And When Did You Last See Your Father?") is interviewed by writer and broadcaster Matthew Sweet.
On Monday 8 July at 8pm, the bookshop is hosting an event which takes place at St Christopher's Hospice: an audience with Jessica Thom, who in her alter ego as Touretteshero is the author of "Welcome to Biscuit Land"- an account of her life with Tourette's.
On all three of the Saturdays during the festival, Kirkdale Bookshop is hosting a special version of our regular children's story-time session at 10.30am. Featured authors include Sheena Dempsey and Alexis Deacon.
