This Saturday at 7.30, just a few minutes away on the Overground at Goldsmith's College, Lewisham Choral Society are performing some of the greatest vocal music ever written. They are one of London's best amateur choirs.
For more details, see their web site here. I will be there, supporting not only my daughter, but one of this Forum's best loved contributors, who this very minute will be rehearsing. If anyone else does feel like coming along, let me know - it would be nice to meet up in the interval.
I also noticed there's a nice Christmasy concert coming up at St Michael's, Friday Dec 14th at 7.30, given by the Elm Singers, in aid of Sydenham Garden. I've been to concerts of this group before, and very much enjoyed them.

Will they be singing the theme tune to the Old Spice advert?

Re: Two choral concerts coming up
The third choral piece in the programme is the Beethoven Choral Fantasia for piano and chorus - another wonderful work, though not as intense as, and more extrovert than, the Bach and the Mozart.
I've never sung in Mozart's C minor Mass before. It is an absolutely astonishing piece, superior to any of the other choral pieces of his I know (even the Requiem). It has all of his characteristic warmth and lyricism, but in some of the choruses he shows he can play Bach and Handel at their own contrapuntal games.
