London Bridge Station Redevelopment
I was just looking through a leaflet today which detailed the 6 year developement of the London Bridge Station area. It states that from 2015-2016, Charing Cross services will not stop at London Bridge. Crikey!!
Re: London Bridge Station Redevelopment
Yes this has been news for some time and I believe mentioned on this site.
This will be for the duration of the building work.
With the new overground service I expect Charing Cross trains will soon become a thing of the past.
I believe in my teenage days , in 60's , all trains went to London Bridge only , but stand to be corrected here.

This is news to me.
But there will still be trains to London Bridge from Sydenham right?

Yes. There's a lengthy discussion here on SE23.com http://www.se23.com/forum/showthread.ph ... 110&page=1Bazman76 wrote:This is news to me.

Re: London Bridge Station Redevelopment
Will trains go from Lower Sydenham to Charing Cross or also terminate at London Bridge?

Re: London Bridge Station Redevelopment
As I read it any charing X trains *regardless of where they come from) will run straight through. Cannon Street trains will continue to stop.
Therefore from Lower Sydenham half of the trains (which go to Cannon Street) will stop at LB. The other half will not.

Re: London Bridge Station Redevelopment
Is it the case that the Charing Cross trains will not stop at LB for three years during the redevelopment while Network Rail juggle the platforms? Or is it a permanent change?

Re: London Bridge Station Redevelopment
The implication was just during the works, I think. But this is going to be horrid for me: I now have only one train I can get back to close to home from Charing Cross - all the others involve starting from London Bridge. But if I can't change at London Bridge, what am I supposed to do? Is Boris going to give us special dispensation by not charging us extra for the tube journey? It's already quite extortionate enough getting into London during the peaks without adding around the price of a bus fare to cover the tube too.
