telephone technician

Post by JRobinson »

Can anyone recommend a telephone technician please?

I have several phone sockets around the house, but only one appears to work, and it isn't the first one on the line into the house.

we'd like to place the phone somewhere where we can hear it rather than in the one socket that works in the side room.

BT still do this sort of work ( for a fee, obviously).

yes, thank you. I realise that BT do still do this, and I also know that they charge extortionate fees just to send someone out before even doing any work, and there website is not easy to find a number to ring to speak to a person to ask them if they do this, and how much it would cost. .... which is why I'm asking on here, so that I won't have to spend as much.

Fair enough. BT sorted out a similar problem for me and I was happy with the work, which is why I mentioned it. Clearly I have more money than sense. :|

There's nearly always engineers advertising in the local papers (or at least there used
to be). Most electricians will do this work too, ring some of the local ones and ask them.

BT's prices for repair work reflect their vast overheads so 'as already said' not cheap.

I know personally Michael Rolle at AnyBell who does this sort of work. If you Google his firm, you will see some very good customer reviews.

isn't it amazing how the meaning of a comment can be misinterpreted on a forum when one doesn't have the facial, and vocal clues that one would get in a real life face to face conversation.

Thank you all for your kind replies. Most helpful. I will look into following them up.
