Anyone recommend a plumber?
Anyone recommend a plumber?
I have a small job that needs doing - just a tap that won't stop dripping (have replaced washer to no avail). Wondered if anyone could recommend someone reliable - thanks.
Re: Anyone recommend a plumber?
Carrie of Plummy Plumbers has been recommended lots on this forum. She's great. Used her twice for small jobs.
Totally trust her in our home.
Her number is 02086700342. She always replies to voice messages and emails promptly.

Re: Anyone recommend a plumber?
Ditto the above. Carrie is great and very happy to tackle small jobs.
Re: Anyone recommend a plumber?
Thank you. I got a recommendation from a friend in the area in the end - I used Robert who apparently is also doing stand-up at the Sydenham Arts Festival! He was great, replaced the tap (actually bought the right tap for a Belfast sink), fixed a couple of other things while he was here and only charged £30.
Re: Anyone recommend a plumber?
Hello NatashaM...could you give me Robert's tel no....as I need a small job doing.

Re: Anyone recommend a plumber?
Excellent Quality Plumber! I'd like to recommend Anthony of Complete Bathrooms because he’s an excellent Plumber! I found him on Brockley Central. He understood what I was looking for and gave me very good advice, followed by a very good price for the work done, finished on time but most of all he was honest and his finish is excellent! He commands a high standard from his other tradesmen, in this case a Plasterer, Tiler, and Electrician, with a fair but direct manor.
He is obviously well respected amongst his workmates. I couldn't keep it to myself because I know it can be difficult finding good honest tradesmen, well you've found one right here. Thanks Anthony.

First posts with gushing reviews always look highly suspicious, it didn't take a lot of investigating. However, I'm sure 'Elaine Shaw' will be back to correct me if she thinks I'm wrong.

Re: Anyone recommend a plumber?
IMO, So what?
Disingenuous, probably.
What does that say about the individuals who post fake recommendations? They are untrustworthy? Nope, it says they are human beings trying to big themselves up a bit, we're all guilty of that to some extent.
The act does beg the question, would you allow a disingenuous person to fix your leak? I'd imagine that it would depend on how bad the leak was.
There is no need for false recommendations unless people are desperate for work, so if they are desperate for work are they actually any good?

I want to recommend Anthony. He's awesome. Thanks, Anthony.
The inaccurate spelling of manner also made me smile.

I'd also like to recommend Gavin Gregg (and Tony) of All Hours Plumbers (07949 085466). We used his firm to update our bathroom and, most recently, our kitchen. We're very happy with the results. (Send me a direct message if you need any further info, pics.)

Re: Anyone recommend a plumber?
I'd recommend Stephen Finch (07921 720289). I had a blocked sink which another plumber had apparently fixed 6 months earlier - Stephen recognised the root cause of the problem and sorted out my piping. Great job, decent guy, and he was very reasonable!
I'd also suggest telling the plumber you choose to do your job that you'll recommend him / her on these local forums. A good review is worth a lot of money to them and the plumbers know it.

Re: Anyone recommend a plumber?
I'd also recommend Carrie (02086700342) too.
I got her details from VN and she came same day to replace some taps.
She was efficient, communicative and really easy to work with. Her quote and assessment of the job was exactly what happened. Would definitely use her again
PS I am not Carrie. Or Anthony

Re: Anyone recommend a plumber?
I've used Carrie as well from Plummy Plumbers, she was pleasant and carried out an excellent job changing my taps and pipes for kitchen sink two weeks ago. Would thoroughly recommend.
