Scam: Local Artist Targetted

Just received this apparently from a well known local artist:

Hi,

I made a trip to Madrid, Spain and had my bag stolen from me with cash and credit cards in it. I am in contact with my bank but they are not providing a quick solution. Luckily am not hurt, but urgently in need of some money to sort my self out of this predicament, I will pay back as soon as I return. Please let me know if you will be able to help, so I can send you the details needed to send money to me. I don't yet have a local phone (still gathering my bearings), so email is probably the best form of contact for now. Waiting for a response from you.

Yep its fraudulent. i hope everybody else who received it thought the same. I suspect her mailing list leaked as it didn't use my usual email address. The 'sent from' address was genuine but the 'reply to' had a discreet change of domain that might pass people by ... just sayin

Yes, I got it too.

Luckily, it was blindingly obvious she would never write that kind of note in that kind of language - and I besides I know she has not gone to Spain....
