As preparation for the edible gardens day: On Saturday 8th September there is a stakeholders day 11AM to 3PM This is a day where we would like as many stakeholders as possible on site working together to prepare the garden for the edible gardens day. In addition to the stakeholders workday I ask in the days leading up to the edible gardens day that you attend to your beds. This event is really important in raising the profile of the garden; raising funds (through plan/produce sales) please do support it as much as you can.

Saturday, 15th September from 11 AM to 4PM 2012 Friends of Home Park are hosting Edible Open Gardens Day. This will take place in the Home Park Community Garden (located in in Home Park) This is part of a wider event where many community gardens will be hosting similar events. For those who do not know of the location of the community garden in Home Park please go to Sydenham Community Library and there will be signs or the library staff will direct you.

Capital Growth are facilitating the Edible Open Gardens Day – Capital Growth say that ''This event is a great way of promoting your space to the local community and showing off all of your hard work over the summer!” There will be a talk from Liz Cranwell-Ward our expert gardener in residence; the beds will be on display -and there will an opportunity to talk to stakeholders about their involvement in the garden (other activities are planned). The Community garden stands on what was for many years an unused and derelict space. FOHP working with Lewisham Council, Haseltine Primary School, Hyde Housing and supported by Capital Growth transformed this space into a wonderful and vibrant garden, please do come and visit us.

Oh yummy! But oh botheration! That's three things I want to go to now on the same day.

Brockwell Country Fair, the Orders & Medals Research Society annual convention (for which I already have tickets) and now this!

I'm so sorry I can't attend this delicious event. But I wish you all every success and hope I can come to the next one.

We are also very pleased that Hyde Housing Association are supporting this event by providing a supervised bouncy castle (to keep the younger ones happy and occupied)
