A Turn for the Worse

Post by fishcox »

I just wondered if anyone else in the Lawrie Park Road area had noticed signs of 'anti social behaviour' (the politest way I can put it) recently.

Every morning, when I walk to the station, there seems to be a new trail of discarded bottles and tins along the pavement by the wall by the Cedars retirement home.

Whether related or not, there also seems to be someone pulling down any For Sale signs in the area, and to top it all, someone tore the Doctors Close sign off the post (no mean feat, it was pretty well bolted on).

Finally, we had someone defacate in the street - definitely human, as there was toilet paper there.

Has some new sort of hostel opened nearby recently, or is it just kids messing about.

If by anti-social you mean drug dealing along Springfield Road, yeah, I've noticed it. Nothing that a few cans of Stella and a baseball bat won't sort out mind.

I was under the impression that a hostel was opened over a year ago along there. I am continually being stopped by the same person and asked if I could give him ten pence for a cup of tea!

When not being asked this same person is always walking along the road with a tin of lager.

Over the past year or so there does seem to have been a group of 3 or 4 blokes who walk up and down Lawrie Park Road, or sit at the bus stops, drinking.

They have been there for some time though, and seem to keep themselves to themselves, so I dont think they would be responsible for the recent aforementioned problems.
