Incidents of this nature will be dealt, initially at least, by local line management. Details of the police complaints system can be found here: http://www.ipcc.gov.uk/en/Pages/how_com ... _complaintstone-penge wrote:bensonby wrote:The IPCC is not the correct port of call in this instance. They will just bat it back down to the local borough police. The appropriate course of action to make a complaint would be to ring 101 and report the details or report the details at the front counter of a police station and the matter will be dealt with by the officer's line management in the first instance. The IPCC would only get involved if you weren't happy with the way it was dealt with or if the matter was particularly serious.stone-penge wrote:I suggest you contact the IPCC

This officer needs retraining/discipling/dismissal.
I don't think that's true at all, if you read the IPCC website you would learn that;
andThe IPCC can only deal with complaints about the behaviour, or conduct, of police officers and staff.People who work in the police service should behave appropriately at all times. Expectations about the behaviour of both police officers and members of police staff are set out in their respective Standards of Professional Behaviour. These expectations include requirements to:
Act with honesty and integrity, fairness and impartiality
Treat members of the public and their colleagues with respect
Not abuse their powers and authority
Act in a manner that does not discredit or undermine public confidence in the police service
If you feel that someone working for the police has not met these standards, you can make a complaint

Is it possible to give a description of the customer in the cafe? Ask only because an 83 year old Irish gentleman has been missing from his home in Nunhead since 8 June. He is without his medication and therefore could be confused. He does not have his phone, freedom pass or wallet with him.
For more information please see the east dulwich forum.
If anyone has any information, please could they contact Peckham police?
Thank you.

Re: Failure of Local Community Police
Just wondering what's happening with this case? I was surprised to hear this about SNT PCSOs who are normally, in my experience, a good and conscientious bunch.
@SydenhamSean - any news following your meeting with the Sergeant at Sydenham Police Station. I thought it was good she wants to know what happened direct from you.
James.
