Sunday 13/5 - Excellent chamber choir sings luscious Brahms

Post by isaglanzer »

On Sunday May 13th at 630pm, Andrew Griffiths conducts the chamber choir Londinium in 'Hidden Voices' at St Augustine’s, One Tree Hill, SE23 (very close to Honor Oak Park station). . Little known but exquisite unaccompanied choral music by Johannes Brahms will be performed alongside the works of his contemporaries (Schumann and Peter Cornelius) and the earlier composers who inspired him (Schuetz, Eccard).

Londinium has been widely praised for innovative programming and clarity of sound.
Sydenham resident Andrew Griffiths has a growing reputation as an opera and choral conductor, and is a founder member of award-winning consort Stile Antico. This concert is a reprise of a sell-out performance at St George's Bloomsbury a few weeks ago. Proceeds support the St Augustine’s Living Heritage Fund, providing funds for urgent structural repairs to this beautiful and beloved local landmark.

Do come along! More details of the programme, including a list of works, and ticket sales are at
http://www.londinium-voices.org.uk/conc ... 0513d.html

Tickets also on sale on the door from 545pm. Tickets are £10 (£8 concessions). Wine and other refreshments will be on sale in the interval and after the concert, and the concert will be finished by 830pm.

Just a couple of updates to the above

- As well as the ticket info above, entrance for under 18s is now £5, tickets to be purchased on the door.
- The full list of works is now at: http://www.londinium-voices.org.uk/conc ... 0513d.html

Do come, the programme contains some particularly lovely works that don't get performed very often - it's sounding great.
