Hi there,
I'm an ex Sydenham High girl who's currently studying at the Royal College of Music, London. I am in my second year and my instrument is my voice. I still live in Sydenham and travelling up to central London every day gets expensive.
I'm actively looking for any form of sponsorship or support and I know that we have a Sydenham Music festival every year however when I wrote to them I received no reply, so much for helping musicians in the community! I know that there are lots of musicians in Sydenham and the surrounding areas, however I don't know where to look!!
I've lived in Sydenham for 7 years and would love to be able to promote it more. Any sponsorship would guarantee a mention of the company and free gigs!!
If anyone knows anyone please help!!!!

Sponsorship for music students
Hello!
Hey Enza,
I just wanted to voice my support for a fellow musician! I did not study music at music college but rather at University, Royal Holloway. I graduated in 2004, and have friends who are studying for Masters degrees at the RCM and the RAM who are having the same problems as you are in terms of sponsorship and support.
I could ask a few of them for you how they have overcome the hurdles, and I also sing with the Bach Choir and keep in contact with lots of my ex-instrumental teachers, so I could ask their advice too?
Sydenham / Dulwich is bursting with musical talent, so many musicians and music teachers live here, it really is a thriving musical community! I'm sure you will find help soon if you just keep enquiring and searching. It's like you say, you just have to find the right people. Maybe the best way to start is to volunteer for some local concerts for charities or churches, to get your name out there so people know you? You would have local support then that's for sure, and the more community support you have from a place like Sydenham/Dulwich the better it will be for you. It isn't an instant solution but it is something worth considering for the time being?
Good Luck!
