Nice double page feature in the property section tonight. Might entice some buyers.

Sydenham in the Standard tonight
Re: Sydenham in the Standard tonight
Generally a very positive report on Sydenham, however the high street as usual lets it down and is desribed as "a shabby mix of high street chains, nail bars, burger bars and charity shops".
Will the promised high street refurbishments ever take place?

Seriously? Is this something I've missed? There are fast trains to Victoria (14 minutes) and London Bridge (17 minutes), and slower trains to Charing Cross.
Re: Sydenham in the Standard tonight
It's a slightly updated reach of an old Article. No mention of the arts festival, parties in home park, billings, trattoria, the excellent plays in the dolphin, outdoor film screenings and they got the Train times wrong.

Well, Penge East serves Victoria and LOWER Sydenham gets you to Charing Cross. And the latter trains are fast if you get the ones that don't stop past Ladywell.

Re: Sydenham in the Standard tonight
I never read the Standard. Ever. But I picked one up that night without knowing and did a doubletake. I was a bit surprised by some of the things focused upon and some of the things omitted actually. Odd
Re: Sydenham in the Standard tonight
Did they mention the proposed Funeral Parlour!
Re: Sydenham in the Standard tonight
No, but they referred to Sydenham Road as 'shabby'. They didn't say there were lots of empty shops because compared to many areas, there aren't.multisync wrote:Did they mention the proposed Funeral Parlour!
The reason it looks and feel shabby is due to the many of the ones we already have.

They probably meant Shabby-Chic, possibly a tad historically rustic!!leenewham wrote:No, but they referred to Sydenham Road as 'shabby'. They didn't say there were lots of empty shops because compared to many areas, there aren't.multisync wrote:Did they mention the proposed Funeral Parlour!

They could also have said 'Well Used' but then again isn't well used a good thing to be?
Maybe their glass is half empty...While Sydenham's glass is half full..
