I can thoroughly recommend this recital (7.30) by Hilary De Santos (mezzo soprano) and M. Philip Enscot, having heard them put on the same programme at the Grove Centre last month. Wonderful and (to me) little known songs sung (all from memory) in seven languages (translations provided!) - I was particularly impressed by two by Vaughan Williams - delivered with warmth, style, drama and (particularly in some modern show songs by e.g. Cole Porter and Sondheim) comedy. Plus some excellent performances of solo piano pieces by Chopin and Scott Joplin.
