Tesco in Kirkdale

Post by NowThat'sMoreLikeIt »

Why's it boarded up still?

It makes the area look rough and a little shabby don't you think.

I did ask one of the management team yesterday why some windows were covered in ply-wood still.

"I've asked head-office to sort it but they ignore us" he told me.

I know the world is in euro-crisis-melt-down-mode

But surely TESCO of all companies can afford to fix their shop window

Write to head office. They wil sort it out. Tesco are very concerned about how they are perceived.

Well

You'd think so would't you.

Though maybe they're trying out some new "post-riots-that-never-happened-here-look"

I wrote to Tesco head office about the green point symbol in Tesco packaging. We (my design company) conducted some research on this symbol (a round circle with two ying and yang arrows on it which if on many back of packs). No-one knew what the symbol was.

We told Tesco this and they called me a few days later to say they are removing it from the packaging.

After 9/11 someone wrote to complain about the pack of American rice that showed the twin towers on their packaging. They removed it from sale and we had to redesign it straight away.

If members of the public make a fuss, Tesco will do something. Store managers or employees of Tesco are not treated the same way. I worked for them for 8 years. They are not really a people company. Some nice people work for them, but the company culture is very aggressive and not friendly. Write to them, see what happens.

There's no excuse for those plywood boards to still be there. Thought a company like Tesco would have that sorted very quickly.

I've contacted them

Via their company website & have a "we will be in contact" reply.

We'll see what happens. The staff did say customer complaints are dealt with faster than internal ones.

I felt the same about the boarding up, so i wrote to Tesco via there website about 2 weeks ago, and within 10 minutes of sending the email someone phoned me from Tesco to hear what i had to say. They said the manager is trying to get it sorted, but it does seem weird that this sort of thing takes so long, especially as it makes the area so tardy. I think another email is needed.

Sooooooo

It's been a week since TESCO got back to me and no windows as of today have been fixed.

I asked the manager today if he'd heard anything.

"NO nothing" he said & rolled his eyes , shrugged his shoulders, as if resigned to it.

Well how rubbish is that.

Seems odd that such a powerful brand would leave a store looking so shabby.

Still, Costcutter gets my support every time.
