Do you mind people watching you draw or paint?
If you're happy to have an audience-and you're not already tied up with other Arts Trail events-come down to the pavement near Kirkdale Bookshop this Saturday (16th July 2011) and set up your easel. Wear a beret!
Kirkdale Bookshop goes Bohemian 11-1pm and 2-4pm
(there are loads of other things going on in the street as well!)

this was a fantastic event - I volunteered as a steward, there were two poets doing recitals, a pianist, a charicaturist, and an artist drawing imaginary insects and bugs for children.
It's a shame that the rain caused fewer people to turn up, and some later events to be called off.

Sorry I missed it - but I did help Geraldine put up the canopy.
Another possible Arts Festival idea - yesterday I was at a village fete where one of the stalls was a poet writing poems for people. I was just helping out counting in the money, and the poet seemed as surprised as me as he thrust a bag with about £35 in it into my hands ... nobody had actually told me how many events there would be ... that's organisation for you

If you need more writers for next year's SAF, I have a mailing list of about 200 of the blighters, always happy to read aloud and poem-perform, even in the pouring rain with no one listening.

Don't they have the decency to starve in garrets these days?
