Reg O'Neil RIP

Post by Sam »

Dear All
I am very sorry to tell you that Grandad passed away on Wednesday 18th May peacefully in hospital. He had unfortunately suffered a stroke 10 days previously. The day before he was taken ill, he was at home on his computer emailing friends and working on his new book.

As many of you are aware Grandad lived a full and interesting life and enjoyed nothing more than sharing some of his memories with you all.

His funeral service is to be held on Thursday 2nd June at Walton Parish Church, Walton on the Naze at 1pm.

Best wishes
Sam (Reg's Granddaughter) x

I trust I speak for many of you here for thanking Reg for sharing so much of his experience and a part of our history with us on STF. His memories will live on here for us and people to come. That was very special. He was one of our very special contributors.

Al this, I know, is of little comfort to his family & friends grieving his loss. Nothing I say can help much. But I will take a little time on during the funeral to put aside work, think of Reg and re-read some of his posts.

I never met him, yet I enjoyed his company rather more than many I have met ...

Bon Voyage Reg!

I'm sorry to hear about Reg as I'm sure many in this forum will. He always answered my personal PM's and messages, often sharing wonderful stories of Fairlawn Park, Home Park and the High Street.

Thanks Reg. Your memories live on…

Sam: I'm so sorry for your loss. I too have enjoyed Reg's posts and he seems a really good gentleman. You are fortunate to have known him so well and I feel very privileged that he shared his stories with me and other forum members. He will be missed, but will live on in the memories of those who never even met him.

My sympathies for Reg's family. I hope his writing reaches an even wider audience some day.
