Ocelot Gymkhana: The Review
Ocelot Gymkhana: The Review
A wonderful night in Forest Hill. Not often you write that.
However, I was invited along to see the Brothers Kaufman final part of their Ocelot Trilogy at The Hob. For those not completely up to speed the Kaufmans are responsible for the annual extravaganza in the Dolphin Gardens (Midsummers Night Dream, Sherlock Holmes, Three Musketeers ...) and Jonathan is Director of the Sydenham Arts Festival.
The Ocelot productions consist of a series of playlets based on a comedic view of our bizarrist fantasies. Last night there were eight intelligently written by the Brothers and performed by seven (or was it eight?) semi and professional actors. All eight playlets received deserved applause. Three, however, were in a different league. The writing and the performers fired of each other to take it to a real surrealistic level that will be unforgettable for many years. You will not see anything better on TV.
I won't say which three it was*. A part of the evening is the surprise. Don't miss it. More info here: http://spontaneousproductions.co.uk/
* You get to vote for the playlets by the AV system (as discredited by 69% of the UK population). How nice to be able to share your vote amongst the best and not to have to choose a single winner ...
