Six local artists at Sugahill cafe

Post by BruceHarrison »

A new exhibition at the Sugahill cafe opens today, 28th April (yes, the cafe will be open in Kate and Will's big day if you feel the need to get away from it all).

The exhibition is by six local artists, all architects from the Thomas Ford office on Kirkdale.

Their artwork is incredibly varied from watercolours to etched glass plates; prints through embroidered panels; even a triptic in four pieces - not something you see every day!

Twenty three stunning pieces of art are on display for the next month. Please feel free to visit and enjoy the exhibition over a cup of coffee. The art is all for sale at really affordable prices.

The artists are:
Nick Haseltine - Screen printing & etching
Paul Sharrock - Etchings & lino cuts
John Richards - Coloured pencil, watercolour, pen & ink
Karen Butti - Embroidery
Juliet Johnson - Glass etching
Daniel Golberg- Pen & ink

Sugahill cafe needs your art!

Next months exhibition at Sugahill, to coincide with the Sydenham International Music Festival, http://www.sydenhammusic.net will display two hand made mandolins by Sean, a local luthier http://www.ashmandolins.co.uk

To complement the instruments I would like to borrow some "music related / inspired" images or objects. They can be photographs, prints, paintings, ceramics, tapestries, embroideries or sculpture; for sale, or just on loan to the exhibition; made by you, or just owned by you; originals or copies. Anything with a link to music, however tenuous, just so long as it will hang on a wall.

If you, or anyone you know, has something suitable and would like to show it at Sugahill, please let me know, via email to sydenhamvisualarts@hotmail.co.uk as soon as possible. The exhibition will run from the end of May for four weeks.

Cheers 8)
Bruce
