Gutter clearing recommendation

Post by Rachael »

Anyone recommend someone local to clear my gutters? I can hear them overflowing as I type.

(note to admin - posted this in Wanted as well, but thought I might get more traffic here. Apologies for double-posting)

The window cleaner does them along here but naturally charges extra. Think that works out cheaper than having two firms involved.

Provided you have ladders available, I'm sure my mother-in-law's gynaecologist would do a splendid job for you, after all, it can't be that far removed from what he normally does, would you like his number? (I've heard he's recently retired, but he likes to keep his hand in).

Who knew the state of my down pipe could be the source of such hilarity.

Hill Dweller - I don't have a regular window cleaner for the same reason that I can't clear my own gutters. We have half-roofs at the front of the house which means that you can only get to the upper windows and gutters by shimmying across the window sills or putting up a scaffold. In the past my roofer has done it (he has the right sort of ladders and insurance), but its not a cheap option and I wondered if there was anyone local who could do it.

I'll post the phone number of the firm whose man 'does' our road rsh.

He's got all the kit as the houses are 3 storey, they've been regular here for years so it's a solid firm.

Whether they can do your shimmying (or whether Jimmy the actual roofer can) I don't know, I'll just pass their numbers on when I find them :x .

Hi again rhs

I couldn't find the window cleaner's card after all but Jimmy's last mobile was 07956 257886, he's very fast and tidy but always mega busy.

I googled and some of these results are local :

Thanks - I'll try that number.

Thanks also for the google search - I was hoping for recommendations rather than taking pot luck, but since no one else has come up with any suggestions...
