Pat Trembath Chair of the Sydenham Society has passed this information to me:
At a Future of Crystal Palace Park meeting a few days ago there was a presentation from Mick Bartram of TfL on a proposal to bring Tramlink up to Crystal Palace from Birkbeck station. There will be new stations at Crystal Palace Parade, at CP Railway station, Anerley Road and at Penge Road (well to the other side of Penge High Street).
Consultation is due to begin tomorrow to 30,000 people living within 1,000m of CP on the Bromley side of the park. Consultation will be ongoing for next 2 months with the preferred route being known by April 2007. A phone number for further info was given as 0800 234 6697 and e-mail is TfL.gov.uk/trams/cteproject@tfl.gov.uk. There will be a public exhibition in July 2007 prior to a planning application.
Below is a link to a TFL document showing possible routes.

A further update on this information obtained from TfL/Tramlink today.
The consultation which starts today is about which of three routes the Tramlink should take up Anerley Hill. The consultation will be on the Bromley side of Crystal Palace Park (any route will obviously affect residents in this area) and will take place over the next two months.
TfL's preferred option will be announced in April next year. This will be followed by a wider public consultation to see how much support a Tramlink to Crystal Palace would have locally.
I have been assured that residents of Sydenham will be asked for their opinions in this second consultation.

TfL announces results of Tramlink Consultation
Dear All,
As many of you are aware TfL have been running a consultation on the Croydon Tramlink Extension to Crystal Palace. This is separate to the LDA consultation on the future of the park. However, there is evidently lots of cross over between the TfL's proposals as it has an impact on the park and the surrounding area.
TFL have published the results of their consultation into Croydon Tramlink Extension to Crystal Palace.
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/project ... /2061.aspx
They have not as yet reached a decision as to which option they would like to proceed with.
The Executive Summary can be found:
