I had a look at the askmid site as you suggested, but because i am such a law abiding citizen i felt i should not illegally use it, (dont laugh)

I wouldnt worry about the minor infringement of legality, its just box ticking... they are welll aware of the way its used its used throughout the old and classic vehicle clubs for a number of reasons, none of them naughty.
Uninsured vehicles invariably tend to lead on to other mostly more serious offences.
I have no sympathy; I pay a lot of money for my own insurance. Don't see why he should not either.
