Re: HOME PARK FUN DAY & FILM SCREENING, 12th August
Hi,
Glad to see someting going on in the park. I remember the 70's when the Childrens Hospital used to use it for their Fair, it was a very big event.
Just one point, the choice of film seems a bit young. Surely this will appeal to younger kids and not to teenagers. Wont all the younger kids be tucked up in bed at this time?
What do others think?

Hi lbere
I can't comment as to whether this film is too "young" a movie for teens but......
Apparently, the film screening company gave a limited choice of films for the film show. By a process of elimination "Fantastic Mr Fox" won. I heard that the "Friends of" group had tried to get "Street Dance" screened but due to licencing legalities (and the fact that it's only just opened at major cinemas) this, unfortunately, was not possible. Still, I'll have a blanket and a bottle of wine and, weather permitting, will be there to enjoy our film in the park .

I agree it's a little late for little ones but as it's the school holidays at that time, hopefully parents with young children will allow them to stay up for this event and watch the outdoor movie spectacle.

Oh I can't wait!!!
Lbere - I remember the fetes in the park in the 70s too! I remember the donkey derby or something like that!
This is brilliant and I hope there is a good turn out.
Shame about the time really.... I know it's the school holidays, but I also have a little 'un and there is no way she can stay 'happy' and awake for that amount of time. I shall pop along for a couple of hours.
Sarah
(PS Fantastic Mr Fox appeals to all ages. It's fab)

There will be activities the whole day at the Family Fun Day starting from 2pm.
So it will be ideal for families to join in the activities, enjoy the day events and then perhaps come back later on for the film. Will be lovely - fingers crossed for some sun that day

Re: HOME PARK FUN DAY & FILM SCREENING, 12th August
I thought I'd bump this, it's this Thursday from 2pm.
Come and say hello, try some food, have a go on the outdoor gym, see some theatre, fire engines, young filmakers, Lewishams Young Mayor, drama workshops, game, web and music workshops, inflatables, music and of course the evening film on the giant inflatable screen.
Among the various things going on here, just turning up and showing your support, especially in light of the proposed closure of Sydenhams library would be greatly appreciated.
Hope to see you there.

Just back from watching the film, and what a fantastic film it was. The young filmakers film was great too, what an achievement. Had a wonderful evening, and can't believe my nearly 4 year old stayed awake!

A lovely afternoon out for me and my three under-5s, and I hope it becomes a regular thing. Well done to everyone involved.
