I have a ghost who visits at random times

Post by delaynomore »

at least I think I do. Anyone know anything about ghosts? I am hoping it is a friendly one. I cannot believe I am writing this! Interested to hear from anyone who does not think I am mad.

I don't really believe in ghosts but I do understand how you can think your house is haunted. I thought our house was haunted some years back but I don't beleive that anymore. What I know is that we had just moved in (so everything was new) and I was going through a very stressfull time personally and feeling quite vulnerable.
As soon as my life returned to normal all the 'ghostly happenings' disappeared. It was all in my mind at a time when I was a little bit bonkers.
I'm not suggesting you are delusional, just that it is very easy indeed to imagine there is a ghost when it is just the wind / birds in the attic / a forgetfull mind (I used to forget where I put things and then think they had been 'moved').

What sort of things are you experiencing?

a friend of mine lives in Cornwall, near Truro, and was told, when he moved in, that 'there's a ghost here - don't worry about him' - my mates 14 year old daughter quite often woke up at night to see 'an old man' walking around the house (all the doors were locked). They had a small statue of Predator (from the films), and this would often be found facing the other way in the mornings. They also had a wall mounted 'green man' (face of old man made from plants), and that was quite often on the floor, instead of on the wall. They also used to smell a very unique smell of pipe tobacco in one corner of the living room, even though the previous owners had never smoked, neither did they, and the nearest house was a few hundred feet away.

They are convinced that they had a ghost.

It is often said that teenagers going through puberty are more likely to notice paranormal activity, and people who are particularly stressed.

What activity have you noticed? What have you tried to persuade yourself that it's not a ghost?
I don't think you're mad - tell us what's on your mind.

Ask it to go away (If it bothers you.) or ask it to stick to a pre arranged times if it doesn't.

I'm fascinated by ghosts....I'm neither a "believer" or "unbeliever" - can you elaborate on what you have experienced?
