Sydenham Community Radio on 106.8 FM
Well, we are now broadcasting loud and clear on 106.8 FM with reception reported as far away as Beckenham! We would like to hear from anyone who has reception problems but remember we are also simultaneously broadcasting online at sydenhamradio.co.uk.
Tonight Clare and Ann’s show between 7-9 pm looks at Summer Outside in Sydenham and South East London. Kellie Blake, Lewisham Council Events Manager will be talking about Lewisham Peoples Day and Joyce Treasure will be talking about the young filmmakers courses which are leading to a film show in Home Park on August 12th.
For people who like to get out in the garden this summer we will have a guest from the Open Gardens scheme and somebody from the Sydenham Community Garden. There will also be lots summer music and poems.
The great thing about broadcasting on FM, instead of just online, is that you can take your transistor out in the garden and listen to us in the sun!
For those of a technical bent, below is a picture of our transmitter aerial on top of St Barts Church tower.

Well that week went well with our signal loud and clear accross Sydenham. Clare and Ann are on again tonight between 7pm-9pm.
Tonight’s programme deals with one of the most, if not the most, important developments for Sydenham + Forest Hill for many years: the East London Line has finally arrived.
It is providing access to a part of London previously difficult for us south Londoners to get to quickly and easily, but what are the other benefits, and are there any problems with it.
Listen to a variety of guests talking about the plusses and the minuses and whether it’s a great development for the area, or just a quicker way to get to work in Docklands.
We will also hear the most up-to-date news on the Sydenham Road re-furbishment plans and what is happening about outside the station as well as inside with the aim to brighten up Station Approach.
Our guests are:
: Julie Dixon, Head of Marketing + Stakeholder Relations for
Tfl London Rail:
: Alan Smith, Deputy Mayor and cabinet member for transport + regeneration
: Ilse Towler, Sydenham Society member and spokesperson on transport
: Richard Hibbert, chair of the Forest Hill Society
: Tim Lund: local activist, and former chairman of the Sydenham Society
: Steve Grindlay: Sydenham’s historian who will tell us if it all started with the railway coming to this area……. over 150 years ago!!
We will be telling you all about the events coming up as part of the Sydenham Arts Festival, and other many places to go things to do in this part of London; we’ll have some music, a gardening tip, poems for summer, and even a recipe for a mouth-watering summer dessert!
Tomorrow night betwen 7pm-8pm on Simon and Ian's show we will be discussing the proposed withdrawal of creche facilities at the Kirkdale centre and the proposed closure of the Sydenham Library. Councillor Chris Best will be in studio and you can direct any questions to studio@sydenhamradio.co.uk or text on 07952 214 769.

Re: Sydenham Community Radio on 106.8 FM
Is there a chance the transport debate from Tuesday can be added to the station's listen again feature please?
Re: Sydenham Community Radio on 106.8 FM
Hi rbmartin,
Our dedicated team of volunteers is working overtime uploading the listen again and the show you're looking for should be available soon. We have had a few technical issues caused by extending our broadcast hours but we're getting there. Please bare with us.

Re: Sydenham Community Radio on 106.8 FM
lbere - there's a meeting about the closure of Sydenham Library on Thursday 19th August at the Libaray (I think it's at 7pm?) - the more supporters that turn up for the library the better. Hope to see you there.
