Gill Hickman's paintings are inspired by the strong healthy cells she visualises. The vibrant hues or pure whites of the cellls she paints resonate with gold leaf and rich textures so they become living, dancing organisms on the canvas. She also creates monumental photoworks based on environmental textures and embossed prints.
See them at the Sugahill cafe until Friday 2nd July.
Here's an example of one of her pieces "All Things are Connected".
Thanks for the reminder, Gill is an inspiring lady and I do have one of her works already. I will come along and treat myself - just to a cake though. Won't be buying any more prints, no... no. Certainly not...we have enough. Nooooo room for any more of Gill's work.
Hi Savvy
I've just been with Gill at Sugahill and we were talking about your nice comments. She would like to know the name of the piece of her art that you have. Do tell.....
Gill remembers you. She says "send her my best wishes".
Gill has an open studio next weekend Saturday July 3, Sunday July 4 from 2pm to 8pm and Monday July 5 from 5pm to 8pm - check out her and all the other artists at http://www.brockleyopenstudios.co.uk
