I went through there yesterday and I can also confirm it's zone 1 regardless of whether you alight there or not.

Apparently Shoreditch High Street was added by TFL to Zone 1 for purely commercial reasons.

No Shoreditch High Street was placed in Zone 1 at the insistence of the DfT, i.e. if the station was put into Zone 2 then the DfT would not provide the funding to allow the line to be constructed. TfL did not wish it to be in Zone 1, they were happy with Zone 2.

The DfT say that 'it improved the business case for the line' and that it stopped the line becoming overcrowded when commuters working in the City find that they could reach the north end of the City for less then travelling via London Bridge.

Hmmmm ... might a new more city friendly DfT minister reverse the decision

Sorry I was told it was only if you left the train there...

whatever the reason, it's in zone 1, and that then stops people buying a zonal traval card which excludes zone 1, for travelling from south/south east London to Hackney.

When the London Overground lines are all completed and there is a circular rail link outside of central London, you'll still need to get a fare including zone 1 if you go via Shoreditch.

The full service will start at 7am on Sunday and will run until around midnight with trains running from Dalston Junction to New Cross, West Croydon and Crystal Palace.

From Monday next week the service will run from 5.40am until midnight with 12 trains per hour through the core section, Dalston Junction to New Cross Gate
I read this in two press reports about the line opening Sunday. Am I missing something or are they? Are they saying the line will still only be going to New Cross Gate or is it on select times and days the service will stop at NCG?

New Cross is the other terminus and the rest will go down to West Croydon/Crystal Palace via New Cross Gate.

I believe I am right in saying the whole lot starts up on Sunday, through trains from Dalston in the north to Crystal Palace, New Cross and West Croydon.

Which means through trains at NXG from then, instead of ones from Dalston terminating there.
