A couple of times this week I've seen paperbacks displayed on the wall in front of the Grove Centre, as if someone's trying to give them away. This morning's offerings were "A Model World" by Michael Chabon and "More Tales from the City" by Armistead Maupin.
I have no problem with this, (as long as it's not raining) & I helped myself to A Model World on the afternoon school pick-up. Maybe the charity shops aren't taking anymore books at the moment...
Does anyone know who's doing this? Am I supposed to return it when I've finished with it?

I very much doubt it, mummycat. Just leave it on your wall when you've finished with it so it can carry on with its journey.Am I supposed to return it when I've finished with it?

Lets all go one further.
Go to your bookshelf - or magazine rack in lower Sydenham - and pick out you least favourite book or volume and attach it to a helium filled balloon. Then, after making a wish (preferably for a 'funky' new shop on the highstreet, eh Lee) release it.
But don't, whatever you do, forget to tear out the last page.
Bon voyage.

was there not a bookcrossing.com sticker in it? I picked up a book from that area a couple of years ago. When i registered the booking bookcrossing i discovered a very kind soul who left hundreds of books around for other to read. very much enjoyed the book, even if the physics in it was somewhat beyond me.
