I have checked with the local neighbourhood team and they confirm that the Sydenham team has been available and patrolling the area the whole of the time. I would just like to clarify that Safer Neighbourhood police officers are dedicated to a neighbourhood and are ring-fenced so they cannot be taken away for duties elsewhere in the borough.
From April the corporate model for safer neighbourhoods has been 1:1:2 (1 sergeant, 1 police constable and 2 police community support officers). Sydenham is currently 1:1:3 and from 9 October will rise to its full complement of 1:2:3. This is ahead of many other London Boroughs. Evidence suggests that these teams are beginning to make an impact on anti-social behaviour and petty crime, however they will be kept under review.
