Are you missing a grey and white cat?

Post by Rachael »

There has been a large grey and white fluffy cat hanging around in our garden since Wednesday (20/01/10). It is miaowing a lot and has managed to get into our house during the night (through our catflap). I haven't seen it much during the day so haven't been able to check if it has a collar. It does seem to be in some distress, though.

We are in Mayow Road (SE23 end)

I think it is the same cat that lurks in De Frene Road. He is a stray and a blooming nuisance. He tries to get into any house with a cat flap, eats the food and then sprays everywhere!!!

I quite often come downstairs of a morning to the disinct aroma  !

He is a beautiful boy, but indeed a stray.

Right, well I won't encourage him then!

I spoke to the vets on Mayow Road and they said that if you find a stray cat and you manage to catch it, you can take it to any vet. They will check to see if it is id-chipped. If not they will arrange for it to be re-homed.

So I'm keeping one of our cat carriers handy, just in case.

Well i think thats how cats find homes, they adopt people. My last cat adopted me, its was a bitter february when he first turned up and I gave him some milk then i was buying cat food well better that than giving him the tuna! Anyway I put one of those safety collars around him with a message asking was he owned and to contact me i put my number on the note. Well I got a call a month later and in the end I was a proud owner of a very handsome cat.

Good for you rshdunlop and help out a poor stray especially with the cold temperatures we have been having, its tough been a stray.
