Sydenham Blues Club-- Very Special Guests Friday 20th

Post by tduncanson »

Next Friday, 20 November, the Sydenham Blues Club which does a weekly show at the Golden Lion on Sydenham Road, presents straight out of Chicago, 2007 and 2008 Blues Music Award nominees THE KILBORN ALLEY BLUES BAND. With the three founding members still in their twenties, this young band has logged over 1200 shows in the U.S., playing many major festivals, and winning stunning reviews for their two Blue Bella cds.

I won't go on and on, but this is going to be an amazing show, and the cost is-- free.

Come on out. Music starts at 9.

I popped in the for the last three numbers and thought they were very good. Im not really a fan of that type of music but they played very well, with a passion and were pretty damn funky!
Well done to Sydenham Blues Club for putting on such a quality act.

Mrs Admin did trip the light fandango ... yet another triumph for the Blues Club organisers. I think I might have taken a picture. I'll post it later.

They are at the Trafalgar Pub in Greenwich tonight (Saturday) if you want to hear what what you missed last night. Why did I not see many familiar faces?

I was very disappointed that I was unable to make it out to the Golden Lion last night. My friends went and were very impressed. I am happy to know that they are playing again tonight. After checking their facebook and myspace pages, looks like they will be in the London area for another week! My friends who saw them last night are already planning on going to more of their shows. Can't wait for tonight!

Really gratifying

Post by tduncanson »

I started this thread. It is really gratifying to read these reactions.

Kilborn Alley really is a fine band, one that reminds those of us of a certain age why we started going out to hear bands in the first place.

London has given Kilborn Alley a gracious welcome, and Sydenham, well,-- in the U.S. we'd say, that was "off the hook." What a night.

Many thanks, and support your local blues club! Sydenham looks like a potential home for a fine summer blues fest, to me.
