YOUR High Street needs YOU!

Post by Ulysses »

As you may have noticed, various STF members have been leafleting some of the roads in SE26 with a paper leaflet to garner local support for the £3M investment program for Sydenham Road. I am writing to ask if you would be willing to leaflet just your own street?

No tricks, no catches, just the road that you live on and nowhere else.

We would deliver the leaflets to you pre-folded and you would simply have to pop it in the letterbox of all the homes on your street. We're trying to cover off all the roads in the area but Sydenham is a big place and we are but few.

All you need to do is let us know, either here or via PM. We will take it from there and get in contact.

Any and all help welcomed.

Cheers sydenhamboy. It is in our interest that this £3M gets spent on our High St.

Good on you mate.

PM'd.

i have some leaflets for anyone who wants to volunteer to leaflet a nearby road. Am willing to drop off a batch to anyone who can spare an hour or so.
I think volunteers should PM Ulysses also, as having multiple contacts may result in duplication of roads.

Firstly, thank you to all the volunteers who have kindly agreed to do some roads thus far. It is really appreciated. It really is.

I'm not a fan of *bumping* so I thought I'd simply put out another call-to-arms.

Please, please, please, if you consider yourself passionate about Sydenham and want to improve the High St for pedestrians, traders and motorists [in no order, all will benefit equally] then please lend your support to leafleting regarding the High St.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Sydenham Road to receive £3,000,000 in funding.

We've all bemoaned the lack of investment in our High Street many, many times over.

Please just tell us you will pop them through letterboxes on your own street and we'll bring them to you pre-folded.

Thanks in advance.

I said I would, you were going to check if my road was already on a list to do, I can say it has not been done to date.

lbere:

I am truly sorry if you feel you have been left hanging. I can assure you we value your offer of help immensely.

As I hope you can appreciate, we are but 10 or so volunteers. We have not only designed the posters, we have printed and folded them and have, to date, pounded Sydenham's streets trying our best to deliver them.

We are trying though to correlate the efforts by 'collaborating' on Google spreadsheets and Google maps. Mainly so we don't "double-drop". I knew we were 'slated' in to do very close by you but I can now confirm we stopped at the end of your road! Of course you know we haven't done your road based on your post.

Please, please, please, lbere and anyone else. Don't let this put you off. lbere, please check your PM. I have finally mailed you.

To others, please expect some gremlins. We're not a slip-shod bunch but at the same time we would not like someone to 'double leaflet' so please expect some slight delay. We'll be a finely oiled miliatary machine soon! My Father's a Major so we'd blooming well better be!

Thank you for raising our tardiness lbere but please, others, don't let that put you off.

We are all doing this off our own back after all, and you've no idea how much your willingness to help really matters to us.

Oh My!!!!!!!!!

I really hope that you have not taken my previous post the wrong way, I certainly did not mean it that way.

I have replied to your PM ( I think, never too sure if they go)
