8000 Girlguides from around the world are having a weekend rally in Crystal Palace Park to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Girlguide movement at Crystal Palace in September 1909.
Annie is right in saying similar celebrations are going on throughout the country - but it was here, at Crystal Palace, that it all began.
The Maze has been refurbished by the Girlguides, including some form of celebratory artwork, and will be opened to the public from tomorrow

My daughter went yesterday for the 6 hour party and really enjoyed it. They had a live band, climbing walls, trapeze, zip wires, etc. as well as treasure hunts. The local press were there of course, so watch out for it (Croydon Advertiser, I think).
