As a reader of Time Out I notice the columnist Michael Hodges ('Slice of Life') is from Sydenham. His vignettes of London life are always amusing, and gently mocking of this slightly odd Capital city of ours, and I notice his references often have a South London slant. And the last article or two he has let it slip (maybe it's his way of 'coming out' to his groovy North London chums) that he's from Sydenham. Gave me a nice warm feeling (ok, a bit over the top) that a reputable journalist is in our midst.
Maybe he's even on the forum. Maybe he's even reading this.
Anyway check him out in Time Out - his observations are always worth a read, and you may even stumble across the odd Sydenham reference or two.

Yes, he's a good writer, and nice to see the odd mention of Sydenham - there have been quite a few in the last couple of years or so. I think he's the editor at large, whatever that means, and used to be the editor. His work also pops up in the FT's Saturday magazine pull-out (don't be put off too much by it being the FT - they do cover a wide range of material) which you should be able to find on its website.

You can also find him in the New Statesman - this week he turns his attention to the cafes and buggies of East Dulwich:

Come on Michael - give Sydenham another quick plug!
