I stumbled upon your site looking for information about shop names in Kirkdale. I lived with my extensive family (there 9 of us) in Sydenham between 1954 and 1980 and attended St. Barts and Sydenham Girls School (Dartmouth Road) We were trying to remember the name of the shop at the top of Kirkdale that sold wicker things, tiffany lamps, wooden tables and chairs. A bit arty! A local version of Habitat! Please spare our sanity and help!! I think it had a single word name. Your site is very interesting and loved the photos. Thanks for reading this.
