Election Boundary

We have recently had a number of posts from Councillor Getgood ( Penge and Cator Ward ) which of course have been very welcome.

I believe for UK Parliament Elections from now your ward is included in The West Lewisham Constituency .
Does this mean you be moving your representation to Catford from Bromley.?

Thanks, Eagle. No, the boundary change only applies to Westminster elections. The Bromley wards of Crystal Palace, Penge &Cator and Clock House will be part of the new Lewisham West and Penge parliamentary constituency but will remain in the borough of Bromley. It's all to do with equalising the numbers of voters.

Nothing at all to do with examining the demographics of the residents and trying to predict where the Conservative and labour voters live, then?

Not sure of your party allegience but if Conservative you must be sick of your MP , Mrs Milk , after the revalations in todays Daily Telegraph.
How MP for Penge can be claiming for a second home in Rye in Sussex beggars belief.
She is an absolute disgrace and hope she resigns now.

Is she is the cansidate in the united Lewisham West and Penge Constituency although I would probably be inclined to vote Tory , no way if she is the candidate

Don't worry, Eagle - the milk lady lives in Beckenham "proper", out of WL&P constituency.

Eagle, the Tory candidate for the new constituency in Chris Phillips. He called on me the other day - says he wants to meet everyone in the constituency! It seems that Jim Dowd is still the favourite, with Messrs Feakes and Phillips neck and neck as the main challenger. Could be an interesting general election!
