Hi
I don't I'm afraid (not quite the response you were after I guess!) but if you find one can you let us know. I'd be up for badminton. Like you, haven't played for years but really enjoyed it when I was playing regularly. If I hear of anything, I'll post it here. Have you tried the leisure centre in Lower Syd or Crystal Palace sports centre??

Before I moved to Syd I knew a guy who was really into badminton (and really good at it) and was a member of a very good badminton club in the area. I remember he designed their logo and everything, damn I can't remember what it was called!
He lives in Lapland now, I'll have to email him to find out the name of the club.

Apparently there is Badminton at the Bridge Leisure Centre on Kangley Bridge Road. I found a club listed here but don't know any more about it, anyone use it?

If anyone finds anything run on the weekends please post about it here as I need to get back into doing something a bit more rigorous than sitting at a desk for 10 hours a day

They have badminton courts at Beckenham Spa, I think they're around £10 an hour. The 2-mile run from Sydenham will warm you up nicely too
Slightly off-topic, me and my girlfriend recently joined the Spa as full members (£40/month each) which includes gym, all classes and use of the pool. It's much nicer than LA Fitness on Kirkdale, which we always found was dirty and run-down.

Thanks for your responses. Will do abit of searching. Also heard there may be one around Perry Vale, so may try them as well.
Saw your comments about LA Fitness! I'm a member there at the moment, have been for a year or so. Your right, it does havea feeling of being abit run down and dirty! Its ok though, the people are really nice, and what i like is you have a real range of ages and abilities, so its not pretentious or too serious. Its also local. Have thought about the Beckenham Spa, but its just the fact i need to get a couple of buses in each direction to get there, which is a shame. Maybe if the council were to build the new pool in Willow Way it would be better.

I looked into all the local badminton club details I could find about a year ago. Some of this info could be of use to you but much of it may be out of date.

I should add that the Kangly Bridge you mentioned do "pay and play" nights. If I recall rightly you pay a fee and then play doubles with other players, rotating as necessary dependant on how many people turn up. I used to book courts there with friends and people we met who played the p&p rated it and there seemed to be a number of happy regulars.
