Now settled in Sydenham

Post by paultreacy »

I joined this forum many months ago while still living in Manhattan, New York City but knowing that my family and I were about to move. Well, I should have posted months ago given that we are now well settled in. My wife, two sons and I live on Lawrie Park Road and my eldest attends St. Barts school though we are not a religious family.

We love it here. It's a little more run down than I'd initially appreciated but apparently this will change as there are plans afoot, I gather, to improve the "high street".

In any case it's a wonderful place to live, particularly with youngsters. The parks are fantastic and access to central London is excellent.

I look forward to getting to know more people here and establishing some serious roots because all indications are that we'll be here for many years.

My new photo blog, SYDENHAMSHOTS

Cheers,

Welcome to Sydenham, Paul!

I'm sure we'll bump into each other soon, as my son's starting St. Bart's this week, too.....

Great photos on your website - are you aware that there's a London Parks Photographic competition currently ongoing to feature on the Greater London Authority website? http://www.lewisham.gov.uk/LeisureAndCu ... roject.htm

Have you been to Mayow Park, yet? The Mayor of London is offering £400K to 2 nominated parks in South East London and one of them is Mayow Park. You and your family can vote online:
http://www.london.gov.uk/parksvote/regi ... /mayow.jsp
Voting closes on 30th January.

Nice to have met you......

A pleasure to meet you mummycat. Not been to Mayow Park yet but read the article yesterday in the Sydenham free magazine. We'll explore it. I love exploring parks.

I posted a hectic little film of my lads and me going to St. Barts that you might enjoy.

St. Barts is a lovely school and a wonderful community. I look forward to someday meeting you there. Good luck to your son.

Best and thanks,

Well I don't have any kids and I've never heard of Barts. Unless you mean my place, but then you've missed a Y out :D :D :D

But welcome anyway :D
