From some good sources, I've heard that Argos and Matalan are VERY intrested in buying the Penge Wollies store.
As you may know, when you pay for something in Argos, you go to collect the item, it arrives from a machine linked to the basement, and wollies has a floor above (or below/not sure) - so this would be VERY handy for them.

And Matalan isn't scared of a bit of Peacocks competition, I'm surprised Qs is still there !

Sometime next year (March - July) we will see a new brand in the store. So you've got loads of time to go and get some misleading " 50% off " sales in Wollies, when most of the products dont even hit 30%!

Ah good. A shop I would never use goes bust, and is replaced by one I would.

And for me a shop I WOULD use goes bust and is replaced by a shop I WOULDN'T use! Argos or Matalan - don't really care, one is catalogue shopping with queues and one is cheap tat!???

Wilkos does a similar type of thing to wollies, but better. And it's just across the road, in the shopping centre.

All very sad.....was in Penge Woolies today....empty shelves, vultures picking over the scraps, staff looking understandably p!$$ed off...

I bought my first single in Woolies! (And it was vinyl!!!)

But yeah, Wilko's is the new Woolies. was in there today as well, and it struck me that there was nothing in Wilkos today that you couldnt get in Woolies ten years ago.

I popped into the CP store at the weekend and it was like a sweaty jumble sale!
