Radio repair
Does anyone know of a local firm that can repair radios? My (not-inexpensive) clock-radio is on the blink and sending it to the manufacturer's in-house repair service would cost at least £30, before parts. Thought I'd see if there's a cheaper alternative. Thanks!
An item with that kind of value isn't worth bothering to pay someone for their time in identifying the fault and repairing it. I bought a brand new DAB clock radio for only £20 in a Netto shop about 6 months ago, dozens of stations on it, superb sound quality and with continuous station info display (i.e. tells you what song/artist is playing, news headlines etc). If it ever went wrong I'd just buy another one.
As natbeuk says, FM/AM clock radios are available from only a fiver. If you ever listen to TalksSport or Radio 5, DAB reception is far superior. I've had a look online and Argos, Comet and Currys have them for £24-£30, Asda have one for £23:49, Tesco £24:97. Wait until after Christmas and you may even find one in the sales for even less than the £20 I paid.
