Dulwich and Sydenham Hill Golf Club
OK, this query is only partly related to Sydenham, but I seem to remember that in the early '90s a TV documentary was made about a particularly snobby and reactionary golf club and when it was broadcast the entire committee felt that they had to resign, such was the uproar. This all happened long before I moved to the area, but I have a feeling that this was Dulwich and Sydenham Hill golf club - am I correct or am I thinking about somewhere else? Apologies if I've unfairly maligned any members!

It was not Dulwich & Sydenham Hill GC it was Northwood GC. I remember the programme very well as I had just started working in the golfing industry and it was suitably cringeworthy, although I'm sure it was edited very skilfully.
I am now the Club Manager of Dulwich & Sydenham and I have to say it is a very friendly Club and not at all like the one in this programme. Any golfers out there who want to come and pay us a visit would be welcome. Our website for more information is www.dulwichgolf.co.uk.
