In posts from 2018 expressing regret about the theft of the several brass plaques from the War Memorial, this was said:

As a matter of civic pride and paying appropriate and honourable tribute in memorium for those who sacrificed their lives for their country, is it not time that collective responsibility is taken to address the restoration of the brass plaques?
Not only to focus on one body who owns it and perhaps should have had appropriate theft insurances in place and taken action to at least explore replacement under such cover but to explore whatever options may exist to move towards raising funds for a replacement plan.
Crowd-funding, local fund raising, exploring grant options with any number of historic and heritage bodies and associated trust funds that may have links to the Livesey Memorial Hall may all be good starting points.
Does the will exist locally to initiate and drive a campaign to achieve this?
And restore civic pride in the memory of those who fell.
