If you were on the High Street today around 12.30-1pm you would have noticed acrid smoke. I certainly did and easily traced the source to the rear of a bed shop on the High Street. A fire was well underway and old mattresses were stacked in the back yard, presumably ready to burn. The rear fence has been removed, possibly for convenience because this may be a common occurance. How long has this outrageous practice been going on, I wonder? I managed to film a short, terrible video. But it clearly shows the goings on at no 64 Sydenham High Street. “Yes sir, we can dispose of your old bed for you, no problem” I phoned the council but as with this kind of thing - the more the merrier.

That is appalling, may be worth informing the fire brigade of this practise too

^ Definitely this. I would definitely say this falls in their purview.angela53 wrote: 5 May 2022 10:13 That is appalling, may be worth informing the fire brigade of this practise too
