Smelly fire
Smelly fire
A very smelly fire in the industrial estate in Lower Sydenham, lots of fire engines on route.
Re: Smelly fire
Fire was at a car workshop.
Re: Smelly fire
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a car workshop on Burnham Way in Lower Sydenham.
A scaffolding structure containing one car and range of car spare parts was destroyed by the fire. Two further cars were also damaged by the blaze. One man was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews for the effects of smoke inhalation.
The Brigade was called at 1627 and the fire was under control by 1748. Fire crews from Forest Hill, Beckenham, Lewisham and Greenwich fire stations attended the scene.
The Brigade's Fire Investigators believe the fire was accidental and caused by an electrical fault in a vehicle that was being repaired.

Ironic - Burnham Way ...
I smelled it - I assume - somewhere in the region of the Alexandra Garden Centre, so the smoke must have travelled a long way.
