they want to give listed status to the prefab estate on the borough, its between the Grove Park cemetery and Catford. Lewisham council wants to demolish them.
I've actually been inside one, and whilst not particularly modern, I was surprised at how nice they can be inside. They were only designed to be emrgency temporary measures though...

I seem to remember prefabs in Longton Grove on the left hand side coming from Jews Walk, I "walked out" with a delightful young lady who lived in one (c 1954).Thomas wrote:Interesting - I wonder if this will be succesful?
