Post by Parker1970 »

Anyone else with low pressure all of a sudden? Cobbs Corner area? Nothing showing on Thames Water site.

Seems to be back to normal now. But yeah, saw the Lawrie Park Road closure...

Apparently we had it earlier, too, so it must have hit the Penge side.

Ours went off altogether for about 12 hours a few days ago due to a mains pipe in Newlands Park. Haven't been monitoring pressure today so can't comment.

Boy, the water pressure was low this morning. Switched on the shower so I could wash my hair, and the low-pressure warning light immediately came on. No water.

On Friday 6th a water pipe burst by the junction of Lawrie Park Road and Crystal Palace Park Road so we have that causing low pressure now after they had literally just resolved the previous low pressure that morning.

Roadworks website says this is expected to finish on Thursday 12th.

Oh great, thanks for the info. Should hopefully be sorted by now, more or less, then.

I drove past where the burst main was last night and it was all back to normal, all roadworks gone. My shower seemed a lot better for it this morning... finally after 3 weeks with very low pressure.

When I first turned my taps on this morning they spat and sputtered for quite a while but seems fine now.

Apparently it was a leak test they were doing - presumably thought nobody would be wanting water at 1 am! I was a little freaked given the current situation and the fact that we had no water at all put by, so no handwashing ...

That explains why my dishwasher, which runs on a timer in the wee hours, had thrown up an inlet fault message overnight.

I can currently hear what sounds like drilling going on somewhere in the vicinity of the "Venner Road toastrack". In my experience, drilling this late at night tends to mean emergency water works. We'll see.
