Can't read quoted messages

I find I can't read quoted messages in this forum using the Google Chrome browser in my desktop - the text is concealed by a dense array of thick black inverted commas. Seems OK on IE (which I also have on my desktop) and on my phone (Android); on the latter, the quoted text appears against a background of inverted commas (a recent innovation?), rather than the other way round as in Chrome, and is quite legible. Can anyone offer any advice?

Robin - I had the same problem on Chrome on one PC but not on any other. Also Vivaldi/Firefox worked on the errant PC. So I flushed the cache and Chrome worked properly again. It's in the Advanced section of Chrome's settings.

Have you cleared your cache? Tried another browser?
What is your setup?

Combination of setups here at home. PC's, laptops iPhones and iPads (locked at IoS 10.3) ; Safari, Chrome and latest Edge (all up to date).

Most ok but suddenly iPad has taken to displaying the semi-colon bug. Cleared history etc - no change.

No real hardship imposed on us - just odd.

Happens on iPad. Works fine on laptop and mobile.
